The Boy Scouts of America has settled a civil lawsuit with the family of a Hilo boy who died at a Hawaii Island campsite.
In 2022, 11-year-old Manny Carvalho was struck in the head by a bullet from an AK-47 that was left unattended at Camp Honokaia.
He was there with Troop 19, when a child of the gun’s owner accidentally fired the gun.
Terms of the settlement are confidential.
